The Leona model was part of Córdoba’s Acero line of boutique, all-solid steel string guitars approached from a Spanish guitar building perspective. Like all Acero series instruments, the Leona has an integrated neck or “Spanish Heel” construction to join the neck to the body, a typical characteristic of classical and flamenco guitars of the Spanish tradition. Leona’s bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing typical of a steel string guitar. This innovative approach combines the strength of modern steel string bracing with the light and resonant qualities of traditional fan bracing, resulting in an extremely stable yet lightweight build and contributing to a wonderfully balanced, rich tone.
Leona offers the player a contemporary take on several tried-and-true guitar designs, inspired by elements of Spanish classical and American small-body concert or 000 style steel string guitars to provide the ultimate fingerstyle experience. The Leona will feel right at home in the hands of many players – perfect for fingerstyle, blues, jazz, folk, or even a fresh voice for classical players!
