At home, on stage, your music.
Combining Kawai’s authentic Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action and Progressive Harmonic Imaging sound technologies, with modern Bluetooth® connectivity and a powerful 40W speaker system, the superb ES520 delivers best-in-class touch and tone within a stylish, highly portable package for the home, studio, or stage.
This new mid-range ES model incorporates the Responsive Hammer Compact II keyboard action, which features grade-weighted keys and an accurate triple-sensor hammer detection system that delivers a highly-authentic playing experience. The ES520 includes a variety of realistic acoustic piano sounds, ranging from the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX and Kawai EX concert grand pianos to the Kawai upright, while also boasting the same harpsichord, electric piano, organ, and strings sounds as the flagship ES920 model.
As with Kawaiʼs recent console instruments, the ES520 incorporates technologies developed in collaboration with premium audio equipment manufacturer, Onkyo, and features the same powerful 40W speaker system as the premium ES920. The pianoʼs intuitive control panel, OLED display, and general operation are largely identical to that of the ES920, albeit without the 4-band EQ fader controls and Rhythm Section accompaniment function. In addition, the ES520 retains the ES920ʼs excellent connectivity features, with standard MIDI, USB, and audio connectors, as well as built-in Bluetooth MIDI and Bluetooth Audio for wireless communication with smart devices.
The ES520 adopts the same body and exterior design of the ES920, while weighing even less at 14.5 kg – just 2.5 kg more than the entry-level ES110 model. Thanks to its supreme portability, the ES520 is an excellent choice for gigging musicians, academic and religious institutions, or any environment that requires an affordable, lightweight instrument, with a high quality keyboard action, excellent sounds, and a powerful speaker system. The ES520 can also be attached to the separately available, dedicated HM-5 designer stand and F-302 triple pedal bar, transforming the instrument into a stylish, ultra-compact piano replacement, for the lounge, office, or bedroom.
